They were seated in a much larger tent than they were used to. Thorog had ushered out what Katters guessed were servants or something similar, and it was just her, Zebra (nursing a nasty bump on his head), Bartholomew and the Ohruk.
"And by returning," Zebra continued, "you somehow won?"
"It's complicated, but yes. That's what it boils down to."

There's something needs to be done. Everyone knows it needs to be done. And the tension's been slowly tightening, tightening. Everyone's on edge. Everyone's ready for something. And then it happens.
Katters awoke with a start, clutching at her covers. Or she would have done, had she had covers. As it was, she'd fallen asleep in her clothes (clothes which, she was reminded daily, she hadn't changed out of in almost a week), so instead she awoke with a start, clutching at her t-shirt. KZaT 12They were hustled outside, guards keeping watch over them. The camp was in the middle of being packed, with Ohruks of all sizes folding tents, packing saddlebags, putting out campfires, checking harness equipment, and doing all of the menial tasks that have to be done in order that a camp for over a hundred be bundled into a size small enough to cart around. In the centre of the camp, munching happily on clumps of grass and watching the activity around them with mild interest, stood twenty or so beasts of burden - Katters reckoned they were something halfway between a yak and a pony. Standing about shoulder-high, they had thick, matted hair iKZaT 12


KZaT 11It took them the whole night to get back to the Ohruk camp. By the time the sun was rising, Katters was glad they'd spent the afternoon resting. Thorog seemed to take it in his stride, but Zebra was looking tired and Bartholomew had stumbled and fallen to his knees a few times. Their captors hadn't been unkind - Katters felt that either they'd treat you like people, or they'd kill you. Nevertheless, there was no conversation that night.KZaT 11
